Commonly used in construction vehicles, work trucks, scissor lifts, cranes, and fire trucks are small hydraulic cylinders that move a variety of arms and surfaces to and from a terminal position, or sometimes stopping in the middle. One great class of applications for CPI’s Waterproof Switches are as highly durable waterproof switches that act as either position sensors, or manual start/stop controls.
While CPI has arguably the world’s most robust solution to position sensing in large hydraulic cylinders from 1m to 30m, in this post we’re talking about the smaller hydraulic systems here, that power commercial backhoe’s, loaders, plows, dump trucks and so many other commercial vehicle systems.
Cranes used in truck beds or simple lifting applications can use electric or diesel powered motors to deliver the required lifting force. Indeed many of these cranes use our waterproof limit switches for everything from anti-two-block prevention, to proximity sensors, to start/stop control on panels.
Backhoe/Loaders, Cranes, diggers and all manner of construction and mining vehicles employ hydraulic stabilizers of one type or another for stability during digging operations. Simulated roller switches like our E1092 are often perfect for limit of travel detection due to their durability and small form factor.
Work trucks like dump trucks, bucket trucks, fire engines and many more use small hydraulics to raise and lower and cpi limit switches are a perfect solution to harsh environmental requirements of limit switches used in this environment.
Some application designers prefer our simulated roller switch for mechanical actuation in door switches, or cab detect. the underlying switch can be any of our B-Series Pendant switches. Control Products’ E1 Series, Waterproof Roller Lever limit switches can economically solve tough application requirements, where other roller limit switches fail or are unreliable.
This switch combines our E1117 stainless steel roller lever actuator, with our B9113 SPDT low-pushbutton waterproof switch. Designed for high durability and outdoor use, this commonly used limit switch configuration boasts an extended temperature range (-40F to 221F) coupled with extreme environmental durability and long cycle life.
CPI’s line of sealed roller ball switches are made of 100% stainless steel and boast a patented sealing mechanism that makes them 100% waterproof over millions of cycles. Variations including custom mounting for PCB’s or extended temperature range operation with our J4 B series models.
