CPI’s S2 switch is a variant of our M1 and M2 switches.
The S2 switch provides a two-temperature capability with a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) circuit. The common (moveable) contact breaks
from the normally-closed contact on rising temperature. At a higher
temperature, the moveable contact makes with the normally-open temperature.
The difference between the open-on-rise temperature and the close-on-rise temperature is the deadband, which is adjustable.
A typical application would utilize the S2 to control a heater
to warm lube oil, then take no action as long as the oil maintains
normal operating temperature. However, in the case of overheat,
the same switch could signal an overheat or initiate a cooling action.
